Don’t worry this isn’t the science bit. This isn’t where we rain down stats and facts on you.
This is however where we talk about being as transparent as possible so here’s a few things you need to know about how we choose who goes into the pebble guide series.
We know that every business can’t be all things to all people or tick every green/eco/ethical box out there, but we want to showcase the independent businesses and ethical brands that are trying, and are happy to share where they are in their green journey.
This is how we filter out who goes in:
Sustainably sourced food or products? In you go.
Care about your local environment? In you go.
Support other local and sustainable businesses? In you go.
Sell ethically made or Fairtrade fashion or products? In you go.
Sell handmade homewares, jewellery or clothes? In you go.
Social enterprise? In you go.
Sell vintage, upcycled or recycled products of clothes? In you go.
Serve up locally roasted coffee or brew locally made beer/gin/wine/etc? In you go.
Support local supply chains or closed loop systems? In you go.
Help people learn crafting or creative skills? In you go.
Work with or train disadvantaged people? In you go.
Have space for volunteers or ways to network with other people? In you go.
Don’t care about any of the above? Sorry, move along. We’re not for you.
So you can see, it’s simple we’re about good businesses and brands.
They don’t have to be perfect, but they need to be good.
